The tour will focus on cultural sites in S Bulgaria and will combine them seamlessly with beautiful mountain landscapes and unique rock formations. The itinerary allows for high quality experience as daily driving between sites is deliberately designed to be short which provides time to enjoy the natural and cultural heritage to the fullest.
Your Sofia tour itinerary
Day 1. We will depart towards Plovdiv - the oldest European city. We will check-in at our Plovdiv base, and spend the rest of the day in the charming old town with its cobbly streets, ancient fortifications and more. Evenings in the old town are amazing. Day 2. Heading south to the Rhodope Mtns. Assen's fortress or the Wonderful Bridges. Night in Chepelare. Day 3. Zip line in the morning, then heading west. Shiroka Laka - the birthplace of an important Bulgarian bishop, who played a role in the saving of the jews. Night in the Trigrad area. Day 4. Visit to a cave, zip line, narrow gorge. Transfer to Bansko with stops / hikes en route. Walk in the Old Town. Day 5. Bansko - Rila Monastery. Optional hikes. Night on Vitosha Mtn / Sofia. Day 6. Options include the Golden Bridges, cultural sites in / near Sofia. Departure.
