Devetashka Cave, Krushuna waterfalls and Troyan Monastery

A rare but picturesque one-day trip to the Troyan Monastery, Devetashka Cave and the Krushuna waterfalls - an excellent combination of nature, culture and religion. An easy single-day experience, where travelers will enjoy a day out of Sofia, visiting breathtaking waterfalls, unique mother Earth's cave formation and the third biggest monastery in Bulgaria! Also for lunch a visit to the city of lilacs is planned - Lovech, where we will stop to take a stroll along the covered bridge and walk up the steps to the statue of Bulgarian most important revolutionary - Vassil Levski!

After starting from the agreed pick-up point, we'll take about a 3-hour drive to the area of the Krushuna waterfalls and the Devetashka cave. The waterfalls became particularly popular for a visit for the last 20 years, as around them a beautiful natural park has been arranged. The waterfalls are a number of cascading limestone formations, really a breathtaking view and feeling when you climb some of the steps taking you in the middle of the falls! Devetashka cave was revealed recently to the public as for over 30 years it's been turned into a military secret storage point for fuel and became especially popular after the movie "The Expendables" was shot here. We will make a stop at Lovech for a lunch break and some souvenirs and continue to: Troyan monastery keeps one unique original icon of Virgin Mary dated 13-14 century. The place is also great with its wonderful location nearby one town of craft masters. Not to speak about the architecture of the monastery and the beautiful frescoes in its church.
