Independent private tour guide in Bulgaria. No agencies, no fixed itineraries — only custom tours for thoughtful travelers. As an independent private tour guide in Bulgaria, I offer much more than a standard itinerary. Traveling with me means experiencing the country in a personal, flexible, and authentic way. My name is Penev (known as Patrick), and I design private tours for individuals, couples, and small groups of 1–4 people. I do not operate scheduled group tours or work as a tour agency — every itinerary is personally crafted around your interests, pace, and curiosity. As your local guide, I will show you the hidden gems of Bulgaria as well as its iconic landmarks. Discover the real Bulgaria — from the cobblestone streets of Plovdiv to the ancient Thracian sanctuaries deep in the Rhodope Mountains, explored in my Exclusive Bulgaria Round Tour and Southern Bulgaria – Hidden Treasures & Thracian Heritage journeys. Whether you are interested in history, art, culture, or food and wine, I will create a journey tailored specifically for you. My goal is to offer a smooth, authentic, and unforgettable travel experience, focused on meaningful encounters rather than rushing through tourist attractions. Professional and Trusted My private guide services have been featured in California’s International Travel News magazine. Many of my guests return year after year to explore more of Bulgaria with me. I am a licensed professional tour guide and a member of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Guides. Wanna hear a story? A story about turbulent history and unique culture? Story about kings and empires and arts and crafts, legends and myths . . . . It begins in the medieval capital Veliko Tarnovo and climbs the imposing Tsarevets Hill, where the Bulgarian Kings raised their palaces surrounded by mighty walls overlooking the meanders of Yantra river. It visits the shops of the local artisans still practicing the old crafts of making pottery and knives. Then the story goes through the village of Arbanassi and its famous churches covered with frescoes of amazing artistic value, along the labyrinth of cobbled streets shaded by charming overhanging buildings in the old town in Plovdiv, it strolls through the well preserved Roman theater and the great basilica with its fantastic "in situ" mosaics, until finally takes a seat in one of the charming trendy restaurants and cafes in "Kapana" area.
