Hi, my name is Rohan and I am a Melburnian by birth (originate from Melbourne) who happens to have lived in Sydney for the past 38 years and now call it home, therefore I am now known as a Sydneysider! I have a Degree in Business Studies majoring in Hotel Management and Tourism. I have worked in the hospitality and tourism industry my whole working life. For the last 15 years I have been blessed with the constant buzz of enjoyment from guiding and introducing both international and domestic visitors to all the captivating aspects of Sydney's daily life. As an inner city resident I have loved '"pounding the pavement", exploring the streets by foot and have acquired a great understanding of where it's happening and what's hot and what's not in the City of Sydney! Couple that with an extensive knowledge of interesting historical facts and figures of everyday Sydney life, I am your walking talking guiding concierge! I have been very fortunate to have travelled extensively in my own country and around the world for both work and leisure and intend to keep doing so until I am no longer capable of doing so! As a seasoned traveller I really understand that desire of a visitor to any new city to quickly grasp 'the feel' of the place, to seek out the real sightseeing highlights and where the locals are eating, drinking, shopping and enjoying themselves. My interests include Wine and Food (in that order!), Swimming, Bicycling, Travelling and Aussie Rules (a quirky form of football played in only in Australia). What is my idea of the perfect day? It would start with a bike ride to Bondi Beach, a morning ocean swim followed by a strong coffee and then guiding visitors through the pleasures and treasures of Sydney life. To finish the day, a meal in a local eatery accompanied by a glass of Hunter Valley Semillon or Shiraz followed by an evening walk through a local inner city neighbourhood to see what's new and exciting. With an obligatory stop at a gelato bar! My tour offerings include a walking tour through some of City of Sydney's inner city precincts, offering personalised suggestions for sightseeing and dining options for the duration of your stay in Sydney. Would you prefer an extended overview of those hip inner city neighbourhoods and their happening food and drink scene? There is my five hour tour option that includes opportunities to meet with the operators of businesses and sample their food and drink products that have made them popular with the locals. If it is simply the beauty of Sydney itself, settled upon one of the world's most gorgeous harbours with breathtaking architecture, think Opera House, and a stunning array of beach suburbs to visit, then my Scintillating Sydney tour is for you. Choose from either the four hour or full day option. Further afield there are wonderful full day tours to either the beautiful Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley wine country or the Coastal and Hinterland regions south of Sydney to consider booking. For those eager to see the capital city of Australia, Canberra, then my two day & one night tour could appeal. For avid sports fans, you can even experience our uniquely Australian football competition! From March to August each year I offer a tour opportunity to enjoy a live Aussie Rules Football Game up close and personal! Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, now book a tour so I can show you how my Sydney sparkles everyday! Are you a sports fan? Want to experience what local Aussie Rules fans love to do? Join my tour for a five hour sporting spectacle of our country's original football game! You will get to watch a live, fast moving, action packed game of Australian Rules Football. Maybe you have seen this unusual game on television but it has made no sense! Having grown up playing and observing the game for most of my life I will be able to explain the rules of the game as we watch it unfold over four fascinating quarters of continuous fast pace movement all over the football oval. You will get to enjoy the boisterous atmosphere of the 'vocal locals' as they show their strong support for their beloved Sydney Swans at the Sydney Cricket Ground or the Greater Western Giants at the Spotless Stadium located at the Sydney Olympic precinct. By the final siren of the football game, you will be an expert on all things Aussie Rules! The football season runs from March to September and therefore only limited days to select a game!
Meet at your hotel or agreed point in the city. We will meet between one to two hours prior to the starting time of the game. This will be dependent upon whether it is a lunchtime, afternoon or evening game that we are attending. We will make our way to the ground via public transport, as the 'locals do'. Arriving at the ground thirty minutes before the game commences. This allows for time to soak up the atmosphere leading up to the first bounce of the football to start the game. Game time is approximately 2 hours, consisting of four quarters of 20 minutes action packed football. There is a 15 minute interval at half time of the game for both the players and the crowd to have a break from the intensity of the game! Post game we travel back to your hotel or agreed point in the city via public transport. Total tour time is five hours. This covers travel to and from the sporting ground and watching the full game. The itinerary can be customised according to your interests.
