Tour guide in Valencia Ferran C.

Born in Oliva (Valencia), I spent half of my life there until I came to the city to study History at the University of València. At that time I discovered one of my passions: this city, its streets, its people, its culture, its monuments, and its unique way of life. Some other of my passions are Literature, Music, Travel, and Art Exhibitions and the one that's always moved my soul is Dance. After 4 years in University, I had developed my passion for History. One day I attended a tour of the mysteries of Valencia with my colleagues from university and I thought I would like to be a Tour Guide one day and teach others about History and Culture in an entertaining way. But when I finished my Degree I felt quite lost and I didn't know what to do. With those mixed thoughts, I decided to move to London, where I started working as a waiter I learned a lot about myself and I found my motivation. London was the beginning of my career. I started working as a Tour Guide in 2018, working with big groups of Spanish speakers who wanted to discover the Big City. I felt passionate about it from the beginning, guiding people was so entertaining and funny and it was heartfilling to make people experience the city with more intensity after my tour. Since then I've guided all kinds of groups, from small families or couples to big groups, students, Companies... But the COVID pandemic came and that supposed a break in my career. I came back to Spain and I worked as a Spanish teacher for some time. I started guiding in Valencia in 2022 after I got my Guide Accreditation here and since then I've worked with different companies and I've done all kinds of tours. Guiding in my hometown is just another level. If I had always loved my job, showing to others my city is the full experience. Here I am an expert on our History, traditions, legends... I think most people are attracted to visit Valencia as a beautiful Spanish Mediterranean city, sunny and full of oranges. But when they come discover Valencia is even more, it is a city with a very special way of being, with a vibrant cultural life that they experience in its museums and its monuments full of History and Art but also in its festivities and traditions which are unique in the world. Our way of being is cheerful and music is always present but, most important, it gives the sensation of a big city but without the stress. That's what I try to show on my guided visits.
