Dear guests, welcome to the "old continent". My name is Eric. I was born in Paris to parents and grandparents of Prussian-German, Polish, and French descent, and I consider myself truly European. This diverse family background, combined with my mother’s influence, gave me an early curiosity for other countries, their people, languages, and history. It also allowed me to become multilingual from a young age—something for which I have always been deeply grateful, as it has served me well throughout my professional life. My interest in tourism began in high school. However, for financial reasons, I initially worked in Paris as a banker for eight years before finally turning to my true passion: the travel and tourism industry. I worked for several years as a sailing and ski instructor for Club Méditerranée, then spent fifteen years living on the French Riviera, working in the catering industry. I also spent three years as a limousine chauffeur in Monaco, transporting movie and music stars—an experience as fascinating as it was unique. In 1999, I moved to London, where I lived for ten years and developed my full-time career as a Tour Manager. During this time, I worked extensively across Europe, gaining in-depth knowledge of many countries and destinations I am passionate about and love to share with my guests. In 2009, I settled in a wine-growing village near Frankfurt and began specialising in German and European history. Since then, I have been conducting day tours and multi-day tours for English- and French-speaking travellers, working with UK-based and local companies and since 2012 ToursByLocals for private tours. Alongside this, I have worked as a Cruise Director on numerous rivers, including the Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhône, Seine, Danube, Elbe, Nile, Dnieper, and Volga. Do you wish to explore European capitals, vibrant cities and countries, charming towns, picturesque half-timbered villages, remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites, and magnificent castles and monuments? Would you like to discover hidden aspects of local life, travel through beautiful scenery, and learn about both old and modern traditions? Then I would be delighted to accompany you on that journey. It gives me great pleasure to share my deep knowledge of Europe while spending enjoyable and memorable time with my guests—revisiting or discovering places close to my heart and tasting local food and drink specialties. As you may have gathered, I am very much a people person… though I do enjoy animals as well! Apart from my professional background, I enjoy Nordic walking, cycling and keeping fit. My aim is that we meet as fellow travellers, enjoy the miles with smiles, and part as friends. Eric Other alternative services offered are: First class transfers. Explore with me part of the Mosel river valley an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by high elevations, steep vineyards and typical wine villages. Hidden In the Elzbachtal lies the sleeping Beauty Castle of Burg Eltz. Due to its location, the castle was spared from destruction. Burg Eltz was home until recently to the 3 branches of the Eltz family. A museum guide will show you many interior rooms with their original furnishing or household items. In the treasury you can admire valuable jewelry, porcelain, clothing and weapons. A short drive will take us to charming Cochem the center of the Mosel wine trade. Still today small family run wineries along the river. Cochem is rated as one of the prettiest villages along the Mosel. Little seems to have changed for centuries. The town is well known for its relaxing ambiance, many fine half-timbered buildings and winding streets as well as its imposing castle (the Reichsburg) dramatically rising above the town and vineyards. Unforgettable visit. . .
