Explore Bali your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Bali tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Bali for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Catch sunrise on Mount Batur with a private guide who paces the hike for you, then soak your legs at nearby hot springs before a quick stop at a small coffee farm to learn about roasting. Prefer the water? Your guide can plan a day trip to Nusa Penida for snorkelling with manta rays, timing the boats from Sanur and choosing calmer coves.

Layover tours: Flying in or out of DPS with a few hours free? Store your bags, head to Uluwatu Temple for cliff views and a timed Kecak dance, then enjoy grilled seafood at Jimbaran before a prompt return to your gate.

Art and Culture tours: Try a hands‑on batik or silver jewellery workshop in Ubud or Celuk, meeting artisans in their home studios and making a piece to take home. Visit Tirta Empul for a purification ritual and temple etiquette guidance, or grab seats for an evening Legong performance at Ubud Palace with your tickets arranged in advance.

Getting around: Sidewalks can be patchy and public transit is limited to a few shuttle routes, so most visitors rely on private transportation; you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide to arrange door‑to‑door pick‑up.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Bali inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Bali

Staying in Bali sets you up for easy hops to nearby towns, temples, and coastlines, so you can plan day trips that match your interests and shape private tours around food, culture, or beaches.

Ubud and the Tegallalang Rice Terraces: Explore layered rice fields, calm temple courtyards, and craft villages where woodcarvers and painters work; it suits you if you like slow walks, market browsing, and simple local lunches, and the town adds galleries and cafés for a relaxed break.

Uluwatu Cliffs and Jimbaran Bay: Watch waves hit high cliffs and visit the sea temple, then roll down to Jimbaran for grilled seafood as the sun drops; good if you love big views, beach time, and a smoother route that blends light walking with a long shoreline stop.

Nusa Penida Day Trip: Ride a fast boat across the channel to see Kelingking’s cliff ridge, natural pools like Angel’s Billabong, and calm water at Crystal Bay; perfect if you want dramatic photos and a mix of short hikes and snorkelling, with your tour handling ferry times so the day stays easy.

Sidemen Valley: Wander narrow lanes between rice paddies and small villages, see traditional weaving, and look toward Mount Agung when skies are clear; ideal if you prefer quiet scenery, light walking, and a look at daily farm life without crowds.

Tanah Lot and Canggu: Pair a visit to the sea temple with a stop in Canggu for coffee, street art, and surf watching; this works if you like a short drive, flexible food options, and an easy schedule that leaves room for sunset shots.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Bali most travellers miss.
