Meet Agung R – Your Bali Buddy, Licensed Private Guide & Cultural Ambassador Hello and warm greetings from the Island of Gods, Bali! My name is Agung R, your “Bali Buddy” — a trusted local friend, professional licensed tour guide, and travel companion who will help you discover the real beauty, culture, and spirit of Bali. I believe a great journey is not only about visiting beautiful places. It is about experiencing the soul of a destination, understanding its traditions, meeting its people, and creating meaningful memories that stay with you long after the journey ends. I am a proud Balinese, a licensed tourist guide, professional tour organizer, and a member of the Indonesian Tourist Guide Association (ITGA/HPI Bali Chapter), connected with the international guiding community through the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA). My passion for hospitality began many years ago. I graduated from tourism school in Bali and continued my education at Udayana University a reputable government university, majoring in Human Resources Management. I have also completed various professional training programs related to hospitality, guest relations, and service excellence. Before becoming a private guide, I gained valuable experience working and training with several international hospitality companies including The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko International Hotel, Holland America Line, and other luxury service environments. These experiences shaped my understanding of international standards, attention to detail, and the importance of creating a comfortable, personal, and memorable experience for every guest. Over the years, I have been honored to welcome travelers from around the world — couples, families, solo travelers, senior guests, business travelers, and VIP guests. One of my most memorable experiences was assisting Mr. José Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Prize Winner and President of Timor-Leste, during his visit to Bali. As a true Balinese, I love sharing not only Bali’s famous destinations, but also the stories, traditions, ceremonies, daily life, and philosophy that make our island truly special. During my tours, I proudly wear traditional Balinese attire as a symbol of respect for my culture and my role as an ambassador of Bali. To provide the best experience, I work together with a professional driver. This allows me to fully focus on guiding, storytelling, photography assistance, sharing local insights, and personally taking care of my guests throughout the journey. Every tour is private, flexible, and designed around your interests, including: • Balinese culture & ancient temples • Traditional villages & local life • Rice terraces & breathtaking landscapes • Hidden gems away from the crowds • Spiritual journeys & purification ceremonies • Authentic food experiences • Family-friendly adventures • Photography experiences • Shopping : local product sourcing assistance Beyond guiding, I also have experience as a translator and sourcing assistant for Bali products such as handicrafts, garments, artwork, and unique local creations. Through my trusted network of Balinese artisans and suppliers, I can help guests discover authentic Bali products while saving valuable time. My promise is simple: For me, guiding is not only about showing beautiful places — it is about creating genuine connections, sharing the warmth of Balinese hospitality, and making every guest feel welcomed like family. Many guests arrive in Bali as visitors, but leave as part of my Bali family. Because the journey may last only for a moment, but the memories and friendships we create together will last a lifetime. I look forward to welcoming you personally and sharing the magic, beauty, and spirit of Bali with you. Come as guests, leave as family. See you in Bali! Warm regards, Agung R – Your Bali Buddy
