Today we visited the three heritage sites of - Goa Garba, Gunung Kawi and Puri Mengening, Our lunch stop, Boni Bali Restaurant. We loved Ketut’s hospitality and commentary. I especially loved your telling us of the Balinese culture and belief system - duality - good/bad, male/female, etc and the five elements of Mother Earth, Father Sky, fire, wind and water.
We did a lot of cruises and travel and A Ketut was one of the best guides we came across. He is young, full of energy, friendly, funny , speaks perfect English and an excellent driver. Along the narrow roads on a busy Saturday with many motorcyclist left right , front and centre, we felt safe in his car. He is patient and never rushed us when we spend time taking photos, which is another of his specialty. He is also a very knowledgable guide and he gave us an excellent background of Bali and the history of the temples , the unique Balinese culture, the colours of flower offerings which represent the Five Elements of the Balinese Hindu God . He surprised us by his knowledge of botany and herbs in the Luwak coffee plantation. I would give him top mark as my tour guide and highly recommend him to the visitors. My wife and I look forward to touring Bali again with him next time.
We were so happy with Ketut's service that we booked a second tour, the Wonderful Bali Heritage Site Tours. Again, he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the sites. Because he spoke fluent English, the experience was fantastic. He also showed us additional places to eat and rest—local hidden gems far from the busy tourist stores. Ketut even explained what to buy, where to buy it, and how to negotiate with locals, making the gift purchasing experience more enjoyable.
