I have been exploring Arizona for over 35 years. What I have learned is there is something here for everyone. From archaeology to zoology, and everything in between, there is so much to see. I love mountaineering, canyoneering, caving, hiking as well as finding a nice quiet place to just sit and relax and take it all in. I love to spend time looking for fossils and gemstones and learning about Arizona's past and also being in the present looking for beautiful birds, reptiles and discovering the plethora of life in this unique environment. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder and guide for The National Park and The National Forest. I am also a member of The National Speleological Society and The Arizona Herpetological Society. My real passion is sharing Arizona with people from all over the world. Travelers who have never been here can't imagine all of the mountains, rivers and beautiful forests that are found here in the state. I know that when you leave you will have a greater understanding of all the diversity and splendor that is here and that is what will bring you back again and again. Full day hiking tour from Phoenix area
Overview of your Phoenix tour
This 4-5 hour tour begins with a short drive from Phoenix/Scottsdale to our trailhead in The Superstition Mountains. The "Supes" are full of great geology, history and lore including "The Legend of The Lost Dutchman". Here we have many options from a leisurely stroll to a challenging climb. We will spend a few hours walking through the beautiful Sonoran Desert discussing this unique ecosystem and how the plants and animals survive. The scenery is stunning and the serenity just makes you feel good. This is a true wilderness experience. Everything is included except for your shoes and a hat.
Your Phoenix tour itinerary
- You will be picked up at your hotel for the approximately 40 minute drive to the trailhead. - We will spend a few hours on foot with lots of different terrain options. - The terrain can be rocky so shoes with some traction really helps. - You will not need to bring anything except your camera and a hat. - I will bring you back to your hotel in about 4-5 hours unless you wish to spend all day on foot, which we can do as well.
