I have been exploring Arizona for over 35 years. What I have learned is there is something here for everyone. From archaeology to zoology, and everything in between, there is so much to see. I love mountaineering, canyoneering, caving, hiking as well as finding a nice quiet place to just sit and relax and take it all in. I love to spend time looking for fossils and gemstones and learning about Arizona's past and also being in the present looking for beautiful birds, reptiles and discovering the plethora of life in this unique environment. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder and guide for The National Park and The National Forest. I am also a member of The National Speleological Society and The Arizona Herpetological Society. My real passion is sharing Arizona with people from all over the world. Travelers who have never been here can't imagine all of the mountains, rivers and beautiful forests that are found here in the state. I know that when you leave you will have a greater understanding of all the diversity and splendor that is here and that is what will bring you back again and again. Overview of your Phoenix tour
Let's explore the desert at night! We will head into the Sonoran Desert just outside the city of Phoenix. We will take a short walk to enjoy the sunset. I will share my "treasure chest" of desert gems, fossils and other local memorabilia and curious finds. Upon request I can even bring some night creatures for you to see and learn about. Find out how they survive in this hostile environment. Then we will get ready for the evening. Away from the city we are awarded a much better night sky for star gazing and the maybe the yelp of a coyote. Binoculars and a telescope serve as great tools to observe the night sky. We will have seasonal opportunities throughout the year to see different meteor showers, stars, planets and constellations.
