My name is Joe and I truly love living here and showing it all off to friends, visitors, brand-new Georgians, lifetime Georgians, and soon-to-be Georgians. My tours are centered around history, nature, and culture, and all with a perspective that Georgia’s future is so bright because of our incredible diversity, vibrant communities, thriving arts scenes, and breathtaking natural beauty and that we’re here because of the strengths and struggles of those who fought for a brighter future. I’ve been obsessed with learning forever and I hold a master’s degree in Comparative Sociology and a graduate certificate in Education from Florida International University. I’ve been sharing Atlanta’s popular sights and hidden treasures for nearly two decades and I never get tired of seeing peoples’ preconceived ideas about Georgia change and expand. It really is an amazing place to discover. Private, small-group tours through metro Atlanta and beyond, digging into the history, nature, and culture that make this place tick, all through a local lens and with a progressive heart. Whether you're visiting for the first time and want the real Atlanta, you've lived here for years and are ready to fall in love with your city all over again, or you're about to move and need a neighborhood-by-neighborhood tour to find exactly where you belong: I've got you covered. So, let’s get you better acquainted with the Capital of the South!

Overview of your Atlanta tour

A half day (approximately four to five hours) introduction to Atlanta's multicultural fabric. This is a driving tour with walking stops in some of Atlanta's most colorful ethnic neighborhoods and enclaves: from a stunning Hindu temple to the most diverse square mile in America to the world-class immigrant corridor of Buford Highway.

Your Atlanta tour itinerary

I will pick you up at your home, hotel, or vacation rental in my comfortable Ford Maverick Hybrid and we’ll head east – Far East to the second largest Hindu temple outside of India. Stunning architecture, ancient rituals, and Georgia hospitality. Then, it’s off to Clarkston, sometimes called “The Ellis Island of the South," and we'll take a break at Refuge Coffee Co. Next, we’ll head to Buford Highway to explore where the world has come to Atlanta. These vibrant communities help make Atlanta the vibrant world-class city that it has become and they are helping to define the “New South.” We’ll start at The Buford Highway Farmer’s Market to see the largest variety of ethnic foods in the South. Then, we’ll take an authentic lunch break – Mexican, Chinese, or Malaysian (it’s your choice and lunch cost not included) and then we’ll check out Atlanta’s Chinatown mall. We’ll end up at La Plaza Fiesta - a mall with well over 100 shops and stalls full of Mexican colors and authentic flavors!
