My name is Joe and I truly love living here and showing it all off to friends, visitors, brand-new Georgians, lifetime Georgians, and soon-to-be Georgians. My tours are centered around history, nature, and culture, and all with a perspective that Georgia’s future is so bright because of our incredible diversity, vibrant communities, thriving arts scenes, and breathtaking natural beauty and that we’re here because of the strengths and struggles of those who fought for a brighter future. I’ve been obsessed with learning forever and I hold a master’s degree in Comparative Sociology and a graduate certificate in Education from Florida International University. I’ve been sharing Atlanta’s popular sights and hidden treasures for nearly two decades and I never get tired of seeing peoples’ preconceived ideas about Georgia change and expand. It really is an amazing place to discover. Private, small-group tours through metro Atlanta and beyond, digging into the history, nature, and culture that make this place tick, all through a local lens and with a progressive heart. Whether you're visiting for the first time and want the real Atlanta, you've lived here for years and are ready to fall in love with your city all over again, or you're about to move and need a neighborhood-by-neighborhood tour to find exactly where you belong: I've got you covered. So, let’s get you better acquainted with the Capital of the South!

A half day (approximately four hours) exploration of metro Atlanta’s east side. Love learning about culture? History? Nature? This one has it all! From a spectacular Hindu temple and a sip of coffee next to Lake Lucerne in Lilburn to the top of Stone Mountain - the most visited tourist site in the state of Georgia. We'll round out the day in Decatur - metro Atlanta's Mayberry-meets-Berkeley small town suburb.
I will pick you up at your home, hotel, or vacation rental in my comfortable Ford Maverick Hybrid and we’ll head east. Far East. To the second largest Hindu temple outside of India. Stunning architecture, ancient rituals, and Georgia hospitality. Then, a quick break with a beautiful view of Lake Lucerne. That’s before heading to Stone Mountain Park. We can hike to the summit or take the Summit Skyride up – your choice (Summit Skyride tickets not included). Either way, you’ll get a breathtaking view of metro Atlanta. Next, we’ll check out one of metro Atlanta’s best hidden-to-tourists treasures – the DeKalb Farmer’s Market. 140,000 sq ft of fresh produce and cultural experience all rolled into one. Finally, we’ll end up in Atlanta’s small town suburb – Decatur. Think of the place where Mayberry meets Berkeley and you’ll have a good picture. We’ll take a walk around downtown to the plaza with a stop to see some local arts where you can get some unique and locally-made souvenirs.
