Hello and welcome to Belfast! My name is Lizzie, and it is my great joy to share the beauty and history of the places I love - our dramatic coastlines, hidden rural walks, historic castles, and hidden heritage gems. I'm passionate about our heritage and stories, with my ancestral connections to many of the families whose industries shaped Belfast - the Titanic, Northern Ireland's shipbuilding and linen industries. I also love the outdoors and hiking. I live in the green rolling hills of County Down. I grew up as a child in Northern Ireland; then studied, worked, and lived in England, Canada, and Australia, before returning home. As a well-travelled tourist, I appreciate how visitors love to meet some interesting locals, and feel they have experienced something special and different, beyond the main visitor experiences. I like to "pay forward" the welcome that I, myself, have received abroad. I have had many visitors to stay over the years, and always so enjoy showing them my country - that I thought why don't I do this as a job! I have on-going fun also tour guiding at a National Heritage Site, as well as organising events here. I have taken various walking tours in and around Belfast, Line of Duty TV Drama tours, some coach tours and driver guided tours within Northern Ireland. I am a fun, energetic, sociable character, and I love meeting people and finding out their own stories too. I am a fully insured Level 4 tour guide, a qualified Driver Guide, and a professional storyteller, and I work in collaboration with many other local guides. I am happy to tailor-make a bespoke tour to requests and requirements. Level 4 Tour Guide (Ulster University Accredited) Taxi Driver License (issued by Northern Ireland Driver & Vehicle Agency) Member of TGNI (Tour Guides Northern Ireland) Degree Level: Bachelor of Science, Post Graduate Certificate in Education. For my tours I have no restrictions.

This day trip focuses on Ireland’s Patron Saint Patrick. St Patrick’s Centre in Downpatrick is the only permanent exhibition in the World about Ireland’s Patron Saint. You are narrated, in Patrick’s own words, through his life and adventures, in an exciting interpretive and interactive exhibition. The centre includes a fantastic Craft Store and café. A short walk from here, we visit St Patrick’s burial site. Lunch is in an Irish Pub, that dates to 1642. Then travelling well off the beaten track, near Downpatrick, we visit Saul Church, the site of Saint Patrick’s earliest place of Christian worship, founded in 423AD; view Saint Patrick’s Statue high on a hill, the tallest statue of Saint Patrick in the world; and visit Inch Abbey, the magnificent ruins of a Cistercian monastery.
Pick up is from your arrival port, cruise ship or hotel, by private car. Highlights of this driven tour are the Saint Patrick Centre, Saint Patrick's Grave, and a Irish pub lunch, in Downpatrick. After lunch we follow in the steps of Saint Patrick near Downpatrick. Return to Belfast.
