I am often asked by tour companies for my services as a Step-on Guide. As a Step-on Guide I would join a tour group on THEIR coach. With many years experience, I can bring to this tour an in-depth knowledge and guidance that would be highly appreciated by visitors and tour operators. I will endeavour to make the tour an enjoyable experience as I outline Belfast's history, culture, landmarks, and attractions; many are listed in the itinerary. The tour duration would be 2 hours and 30 minutes approximately,
(Not necessary in the order listed). (1) The Port of Belfast and the Titanic area. The area is steeped in maritime and aircraft history. View Harland and Wolff's iconic gantry cranes, Samson and Goliath. (2) Belfast Castle. It was built in the 1860s and is one of the city's most famous landmarks. The castle was built for The 3rd Marquess of Donegall. From the castle gardens, you get a great view over the city. (3) Parliament Buildings. The seat of devolved government in Northern Ireland. The Portland Limestone and Mourne Granite structure was officially opened in 1932, The grounds of the Stormont Estate are a public park for everyone to enjoy. From the steps to the building, visitors are always delighted with the view of the double rows of lime trees on either side of the one mile, Prince of Wales Avenue also known as the "Royal Mile". You will not fail to notice the statue of Edward Carson; it could be said the he was the 'founder of Northern Ireland'. (4) Upper and Lower Newtownards Road.
