This tour is for those who like to go off the beaten track but not far from Bangkok. Less than an hour's drive west of Bangkok you'll be in the countryside where there is an abundance of fresh nature. This special agriculture community follows the King's philosophy of sufficient economy for sustainable agriculture. We'll take a long-tail boat through a canal that was dug since King Rama IV to visit Lotus farm which the owner received from King's heritage. After enjoying a boat paddle on the lotus farm then we'll continue to the organic orchard where we'll enjoy testing fresh gac fruit and experience how the farmer processed it. Back on the boat and off to the last stop which is Orchid Farm which specializes in two genera, Vanda and Dendrobium. Only Dendrobium can be exported since members of the Vanda genus are regarded as protected species.
Jean is an accommodating and efficient guide. She has put together a really fun and informative tour outside of Bangkok. It was the perfect way to spend the day escaping the city into nature. I recommend the tour to anyone who has an extra day to spend while visiting the city.
This is a wonderful tour and Jean is a wonderful guide. You really see a different side of Bangkok. And what could be better than gently floating through a gorgeous lily pond or walking through a field of orchids. This should be on everyone’s must do in Bangkok.
We enjoyed our experience with Jean on the Agri-tourism tour very much. Her English was excellent and it was interesting to visit the countryside only 45 minutes out of Bangkok. My favorite part was the lotus farm and watching the ladies in water up to their chest snapping off the lotus flower bulbs and then the leaves. I never realized how much work it was to harvest these beautiful flowers.
Great morning out of the city, very interesting to see another side of Thai lifestyle. Particularly enjoyed the paddle boat at the beautiful lotus flower farm. Jean was fabulous as always, very knowledgeable and friendly.
We are a family of 6 (2 young children, 2 elderly parents) taking the agri-tourism tour with Jean. Jean is fabulous! It is a fantastic tour. Kids LOVED feeding the giant catfish in the river and colourful kois at the lotus farm. Elderly parents enjoyed visiting the various family owned farms and sampling the local products. This tour is so different from the usual perception of Bangkok (shopping, massages and eating). It is great to see a different side of Bangkok and also support local farmers.
This is a great tour if you are looking for something outside the city. The day provides a great experience of culture based on village community living. Jean is very good tour guide and knowledgeable of the Thai history. She is professional and friendly. The your is a little overpriced for what you get.
