Explore Sukhothai your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Sukhothai tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Sukhothai for every interest, including:

History tours: Explore Sukhothai Historical Park on a private tour, pausing at Wat Mahathat’s lotus-bud chedi and the famous seated Buddha at Wat Si Chum while hearing how the Thai script took shape here. With a full day, add Si Satchanalai Historical Park for kiln ruins and later-period temples.

Religious Sites tours: Visit Wat Traphang Thong to walk the bridge to the island ordination hall and watch locals make merit at dawn. Then see Wat Phra Phai Luang’s laterite towers and climb to the standing Buddha at Wat Saphan Hin for a quiet hilltop moment.

Bike tours: Cycle the park’s flat lanes between moats and rice paddies, with frequent stops for photos and stories at small temples you’d miss by car. Your guide can fit kids’ seats or e-bikes and plan a noodle break for kway teow Sukhothai at a favourite family shop.

Getting around: Inside the Historical Park, walking and biking work well, but temples sit in several zones and the town is spread out with little public transit. Ask your local guide about a chauffeured tour or a car-and-driver for longer distances.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Sukhothai inside and out.
