Seville is one of the most important cities of Spain, and even during some moments in history, one of the most important cities in the world. Phoenicians, Tartesians, Romans, Umayyads, Almohads, Castilians and Spaniards left their heritage among the ancient walls of this city with almost three thousand years of history. With this walking tour we will see the main highlights of Santa Cruz neighbourhood, the historical quarter of Seville, where we will discover the urbanism and architecture that all these civilizations left by the city. Step by step we will get into the different historical layers, seeing places such as the gates, walls and towers from the ancient wall, the best baroque buildings done, Maria Luisa Park, created for the Universal Exhibition done in 1929 or even the XXIst century Seville building (among other things).
We will start by Setas the Sevilla in Encarnación square and we will visit: -The streets and squares that composed the islamic, roman and actual city center -The Salvador church -Arenal neighborhood -The gates, walls and towers done under the Almohad rule -The ancient Jewish neighborhood in Santa Cruz, analyzing its buildings and urbanism -Maria Luisa Park and the buildings from the universal exhibition For extra time, send me a message and I will design an exclusive tour for you.
