FEEL, EXPERIENCE SEVILLE LIKE A NATIVE! Hello! I am Carmen from Seville. Ring a bell? But now I'm a guide, and perhaps not just any other guide, or what do you think?. Yes, I used to roll cigars, remember? But those days are gone and now I will not even dare have your eyes roll, but just to admire and gaze at the full beauty of my Seville, the city where I was born, the city I love and I will make you love too. The old tobacco Factory? Funny, I never left it, since it was then turned into a University, and there I ended up taking my BA in English language. And true to my gypsy roots, I also travelled the world a bit and even lived in England for five years And back to my city, I have to say that it is not just the home of the world's largest Gothic cathedral or of one of the most exquisite arabesque palaces in Western Europe, but it is also the city of Carmen: full of life, energy, passion, exoticism and light. The light I would like to use to colour your experience of Seville, with interesting anecdotes, lots of humor, wit and good conversation. Conventional tours are not my style. In the past as we strolled along the Guadalquivir River: "Oh Merimé, how sweet of you to hum those seguidillas for me. Such beautiful music!" But what about the "manzanillas"? You will now ask -in the present. Oh! those I would like to drink with you my dear guest". Leave Carmen to guide you at her pace and her own way! I have been working as a guide for twenty years and after that accumulated experience, I have realized that the secret of my success is enjoying my tours. I am not a conventional guide and therefore neither are my tours. To discover Seville doesn't have to mean running from monument to monument cramming your head with facts, but to be able to enjoy the full experience of it, since the city opens to a whole diversity of activities. Besides, same as the rest of my colleagues, I can also guarantee: Skipping the lines A full licensed guide Tons of experience Trust me! You shouldn't miss my tour. In this tour I will take you into in the charming Santa Bartolome and Santa Cruz district which have in the past been the living area of one of the most important Jewish communities in Spain. Today, it is the true historical heart of the city, with traces of the Jewish past still there, discretely decorating some palaces façades and building interiors, such as former synagogues transformed into medieval churches or the remains an old Jewish cemetery. Who was Susona? Where are the remains of the old Jewish cemetery? What was the San Francisco square used for previously? I will share with you some hidden stories and legends which bring us closer to understand how the Jews lived in Spain. We will also visit the Alcazar palace built at a time where the Jews had a very relevant place in politics and administration of the realm.
- The tour starts upon meeting - Walk to Santa Cruz quarter - San Bartolome district (both Jewish districts) - Coffee break in a coffee shop - Visit the Alcazar Palace and its gardens - End of the tour This is a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly
