Maria "la Serrana" is my artistic name as a flamenco dancer. I have my own dance company and tour around the world. When I am in Seville, I teach too. I have been teaching since 1996 and I opened my dance school in Seville in 1999. I am an experienced teacher with both Spanish and foreign students, both absolute beginners as professionals. What I like most is to introduce people to flamenco, see their faces as they get to understand the feeling and tell about the history of this wonderful art. It really makes a difference when you know a little more about the Spanish history and how that had is influence on this wonderful art. Some people love flamenco just by seeing it, and others have to learn to love it, and I will be happy to show you and answer any question you already have or that might pop up. As most of the artists in Seville are my colleagues, I can surely get you a meet and greet, so that you can share your experience with them. Most of the time I will dance myself, since I dance three times a week at my own stage, but I will always ask you beforehand if you would like me only as a guide or both as a guide and an artist. You will get a real inside-experience of flamenco. Since I have lived in England and Holland, I speak English and Dutch too, and some French and German. I hope to see you soon and give you a real Flamenco experience. As a dancer I studied with Farruquito, for eight years, and later with Manuela Carrasco and Matilde Coral. Lately with Adela Campallo Antonio Canales and Manuela Rios. I have been teaching around the world as well, for example in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Turkey, Malta, Portugal and Usa (New York). I toured the world with 10 productions by Compañia Maria "la Serrana" at important theaters and flamenco festivals I am not a Licensed guide and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments. I do not have a drivers licence.

We meet up for a private flamencoclass where you learn rhythms, handmovements and footwork, and also understanding off the flamenco art. I am a trained teacher with a great dela of experience teaching since 1997 to both absolute beginners and professional dancers. For the class it is best you feel comfortable. Special clothes are not a requirement, but shoes with a small and string heel are convenient. Sneakers are better than flipflopps or a tiny elegant heel. After we walk or catch a cab in case the show is in another part of the city and see an hour long show in one of the most intimate venues of the cities. Sometimes I dance myself, sometimes i take you to a show of wonderfull collegues
-meet up at the studio in a local arty area of Sevilla and do a one hour class - catch a taxi to Triana, the flamenco district (ore somewhere with the best show in town that evening) - show -I will accompany you to a taxi so you can get home safely

Calle Castellar, Sevilla, Andalucía, 41003, Spain
We normally meet at Calle castellar 52A. Mind the spelling please, castellar is written with LL. Also, it is just of Feria street. There is one spelled with one L and that one is near the river, which is not it. These are studios where local dancers rehearse and teach
