Hi, I'm Sandra, I am from Santiago de Compostela and for many years I worked here as a journalist. I studied Communication and Graphic Illustration in A Coruña and I currently live in Compostela, where I work also as a producer for radio broadcasts. In 2019, I decided to explore new professional areas connected to tourism. I love deeply Santiago de Compostela, so I thought that becoming an official tourist guide would be a good mix of my two passions: my town and communication. So it's been 5 years since I started guiding travelers from all over the world. I know well the cultural life of Santiago, its streets and monuments, its charming corners, its curiosities and legends. . . My main goal in every walk I lead is to show you this town through the perspective of a local, so you can get beautiful memories and feel deeply connected to the Santiago we love. This town, with an ancient history linked to pilgrimage, has an amazing medieval past and a very special atmosphere you are going to love. In my free time, I develop a graphic project as an illustrator called 'Compostela é a xente' based on portraying the Santiago citizens, the soul of the town. I love music as well, and since I was a kid I was connected to folk music groups. Nowadays I sing in a Galician choir. Another of my interests is gastronomy, so I can offer you my assessment to enjoy the most delicious Galician dishes. And finally, I have to confess that my great weakness is my dear dog Lola. So, in case you travel with your pet, I'll show you the best dog friendly spots here in Santiago. Looking forward to meeting you! Santiago de Compostela has an unknown contemporary heritage that is waiting to be discovered. I propose you a walk through the architecture and history of the 20th century in the city. I'll show you the modernist legacy, contemporary buildings like the Auditorio de Galicia, the exterior of the Contemporary Art Centre and the controversial Cidade da Cultura, designed by Peter Eisenmann. On this walk we will visit green areas as Bonaval - the city's old cemetery reconverted in the nineties in a gorgeous and peaceful park. I can customize this tour according to your preferences, please do not hesitate to ask!
- Meet up in Alameda Park - Praza de Galicia - Cidade da Cultura - Bonaval Park - Avenida Xoan XXIII - Auditorio de Galicia. End of the tour
