Santiago de Compostela Museum Tour: Museo do Pobo Galego and Tapas

This is the place to go if you like to get a whole vision of Galician region. It's a bit out of the beaten track of tourism but very interesting and worth it. The museum is well organized and presents those traditions and customs that sometimes are forgotten in official history but make the real identity of the people. The exhibition covers old occupations along historic periods, related to the sea, field work, clothing, architecture, society, etc The site is by the pilgrims entry in Compostela and had been the Dominicans convent since the XIII century. The later reconstruction of the building left it with an imposing barroc style and fabulous staircase. The gothic church has been the burial ground for most distinguished people in the country. End the tour with a fantastic view from the Bonaval park along with a traditional tapa and drink.
