I'm a licensed tourist guide of Galicia since 2010 and I have been working as a guide since 2014. I was born in a fishing town near Finisterre, the Spanish land's end and I live now in Santiago de Compostela, where I work as a local guide and tour leader. I have lived in Cork, Ireland, a country I love, and I also spent some time working in the French Britanny and Cuba. I have a broad range of interests. I have a deep passion for nature, animals and environmental causes, which explains my love for hiking. I have lead some walking trips along the Way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago) many times. I'm interested in ethnography, music, history, art, ecology, gender and I'm also quite curious about languages, specially minority ones. I think being a guide is a very rewarding proffesion. I have always being an adventurous soul and this job gives me the opportunity to work outdoors and not just travelling but experiencing the trip more in depth, inmersing myself in the local culture. Every trip I lead is a master for me and really rewarding. In all this time, I have seen how this corner of the Spanish northwest has become less unknown in the world thanks to the Camino de Santiago, which has always been a link between cultures. Galicia maintains many of its ancestral traditions, which combined with its historical and artistic heritage, its gastronomy, its almost 1. 500 km of rugged and peaceful coasts and the open character of its inhabitants make it a top-level tourist destination. One of the most unknown Celtic nations, Galicia offers travelers everything they can wish for. Do you want to discover it? Licensed tourist guide of Galicia None

With this tour you will get to know Santiago on a deeper level. You won't just get familiar with the pilgrimage and its art and history, but also with gastromony-Galicia has the best seafood of Europe among many other things- nature -it's one of the greenest cities in Spain- , University - one of its oldest ones-, special nightlife -some pubs celebrate the "foliadas" - a traditional Galician parties with bagpipes and some other traditional instruments-. The whole history of the city of Santiago begins with the discovery of the tumb of Saint James the Great in the early 9th century, which soon attracted thousands of pilgrims coming from everywhere in Europe to worship his relics. The pilgrimage reached its peak in the 11th century and after some ups and downs along history, in the second half of the 20th century there has been a major renaissance of the pilgrim's route.
