Benvinguts a Girona!! My name is Alexia, I'm a local tour guide from Girona, born and raised in this beautiful city that I deeply love. I studied Design and Tourism, and my professional journey has taken me as far as China and Argentina. Living and working in these countries sparked a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and a passion for connecting with people from all around the world. Being a tour guide allows me to do just that — meet amazing travellers, share special moments from their journeys, and show them the city I'm so proud to call home. I truly can't imagine doing anything else — guiding is not just my job, it's what I love. I'd be delighted to accompany you and help you discover the magic of Girona. My studies are: Official Licensed Tour Guide of Barcelona and Catalonia. Certificate issued by the Generalitat (Catalan Government) - License number 3006. - Bachelor's degree in Industrial design (IED Barcelona). -Degree of Higher Technician in Guide, Information and Tourist Assistance ( EHTB Barcelona) - Complementary training courses in the history of Catalan Art and history. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

In this tour you will have the chance to get an in-depth look at the Jewish history in Girona Province, where we can find two of Catalonia's most important Jewish heritage sites: Girona and Besalú. We will start the tour in Besalu, an enchanting village that seems to have been frozen in time. At the entrance of this little town, you will be delighted with its remarkable and fascinating romanesque bridge, and where we can find some exceptional pieces of Jewish heritage in Catalonia: a unique Mikveh from the 12th century and traces of a synagogue closed in the 14th century. After a quick lunch break (and try its local famous pastry called "Xuixo"!) we will start our second part of the tour in Girona, where we'll get lost in the narrow streets in the most beautiful part of the city called "El Call", which in medieval times, was one of the biggest Jewish quarters in Europe.
I will come to pick you up in Girona at the station, where the driver will be waiting to start the tour to Besalú, our first stop. If you are staying in Girona, we can pick you up at your hotel or at a place near the old town. After visiting Besalú, you will have a quick lunch break in Girona. In the last part of the tour I will show you the charming medieval quarter of Girona. The driver will take you back to Girona station or drop you off at your hotel if you stay in Girona. On tour we will see: - Jewish Quarter of Besalú. - Mikveh from the 12th century and traces of a synagogue closed in the 14th century. - The fortified bridge of Besalú. - Roman and medieval walls of Girona. - Painted houses overlooking the Onyar river. - Jewish Quarter of Girona. - Jewish museum of Girona (interior). - Girona Cathedral (exterior).
