Hello travelers! My name is David, born and raised in Figueres. Yes! Figueres, the birthplace of the genius Salvador Dalí and home of his amazing Theater Museum of surrealist art. After graduating in Economics at Girona University life took me to Hungary, Czech Republic, Australia and China to finish my formation in the field of International Relations and eventually Chinese Mandarin. My eagerness to learn push me to travel as much as I could and when I left China I started a two years overland journey that brought me home after several years away. Once at home I rediscovered Spain's beauty, its interesting culture, great gastronomy and excellent weather and decided to become a guide to share it with travellers from all over the world. As a guide, I've lead multiple days walking tours in the Camino de Santiago (St James Way), cycling tours in Costa Brava and Pyrenees and educational bus tours all over Spain. More than a job, guiding is my passion, especially in my home region L'Empordà which is one of the (possibly) many paradises on earth but this is the one I know best, guiding tours in here offers me the opportunity to share and enjoy it with you all. A visit to the unique Dali's Museum is an experience, a trip to the unconscious, a discovery of the artist's surrealist world. The former Municipal Theater converted into a Museum by Salvador Dalí himself is considered his masterpiece as a whole and hosts an extensive collection of the artist.
Our tour guide, David, was outstanding. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and high energy. He maximized every minute and besides showing us the museum highlights, gave us a wealth of background information as we walked through, making the entire tour much more than we expected. We would recommend him highly for anyone planning a visit to the Dali Theatre-Museum.
Cannot say enough about how AMAZING this tour was with David!! On a two-week trip in Europe, this was our top #1 or #2 day and tour by far! Our guide was responsive to our needs, helped to design options around our needs, and we felt like we gained a friend. We literally don't have a suggestion for improvement. We strongly recommend him for individuals interested in Figueres, the Dali Museum, and Girona.
We'll meet up at the entrance of the museum for a necessary introduction. Once we have put the piece of art into context is time to walk in to reveal some of Dalí's secrets by admiring his art. We'll learn about one of the most important and more influential artists of the 20th century and, we may even discover things about ourselves through his art. A truly surrealist experience that won't, for sure, leave you untouched.
