We are going to meet next to the port of Koper and travel for about a hour and a half to discover the Slovenian capital-the city of Ljubljana. While driving I will tell you about Slovenes and the culture, our history and explain you about the way of living in our country in between the Adriatic Sea, the Alps and Pannonian basin. Ljubljana is the largest and most important city in Slovenia and is located right in the central part of the country. It is the economic, university, cultural and political center of Slovenia The city has long and rich history. The first people settlers lived in the swamp close to the town. They were followed by many peoples, from the Illyrians and then the Romans, who established a castrum called Emona here. In the Middle Ages, the city was named Laibach and was part of the Hapsburg monarchy, which later became the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Nowadays Ljubljana is a young and modern capital of a state, which is a member of the European Union.
We start with our exploring in the morning, upon the cruise ship arrival. Then we continue our discovery on the road to Ljubljana. We get to know the Slovenian capital-Ljubljana-on a walking tour. Later on you can enjoy the city on your own and at the end, we return to the port of Koper. The standard route guided tour proceeds on the following points: *the Congress Square, *the Preseren Square, *the area of the three bridges, *the bridge of dragons, *the cathedral of Saint Nicholas, *the Shoemakers bridge and *the town square, where was the central square of medieval Ljubljana. A guided tour of Ljubljana with an experienced and licensed tour guide is one of the best ways to learn more about the capital and Slovenia. As a professional tour guide I will make the visit exciting and fun. You will get to know the rich history of Ljubljana and many stories and legends that are still living. The itinerary and me:) are flexible. The tour is private, so we can explore the places with your rhythm.
