The Slovenian Coast is one of the shortest worldwide. Along it, there are three beautiful historical towns - Koper, Piran and Izola. The first two are fairly known, but that is not the case with Izola - which makes it a perfect place for the traveler, that would like to leave the main tourist routes - but would still like to experience unique and picturesque places! Izola is my hometown - I have grown up here, and I do live here today. So I do not know it only as a professional local guide, but also as an everyday insider. I would be happy to make a walk with you and tell you the interesting and funny stories, that life has written here. It is a small fishing town with an artistic soul! In Venetian times it used to be, like some other coastal towns here, an island. For a long time, the main industries were fishing and agriculture, which mainly focused on olives and wine. Later - in Austrian, Italian and Yugoslavian times - the city industrialized. Today - in Slovenia - it also has a lovely marina.
