Wind of Change - Bratislava in the 20th Century

Bratislava is the small Slovak capital lying on the Danube river where the Alps meets the Carpathians. From cozy Old Town down the modern Downtown area and up to serene city forests, Bratislava is a refreshing stop on people's trip across Europe. Let's delve into the shifting fates this country experienced in the 20th century. From monarchy to republic to nazi puppet state to communism and back to democracy, people's lives have changed tremendously in the last 100 years. From a nation of farmers to service/industry-based economy, from nobility-controlled to civic society, Slovakia had its fair share of changes in what we can call the most dynamic century in human history. Unleashing this all, we will visit many important landmarks and buildings tied to the period, I will also share visuals of "old Bratislava" and many stories from lives of people undergoing all these changes. Last but not least, we will stop for a "worker's snack" in an old-school pancakes bistro (family tavern-style bar on Saturdays).
