Bratislava is the small Slovak capital lying on the Danube river where the Alps meets the Carpathians. From cozy Old Town down the modern Downtown area and up to serene city forests, Bratislava is a refreshing stop on people's trip across Europe. Come with me on this day tour and you will see the most of the best this city has to offer. Not one, but two castles, gorgeous sights, ancient and new history alike. I will tell you also all about the present life and show you some of my favorite spots. We will have lunch in restaurant that is family-owned since 18th century. Start: Rybne Namestie - Bus to Devin Castle, for breathtaking views from ancient place guarding historic trade route and its small museum before heading back to the city. - Hviezdoslavovo square and our next stop, Main Square, are typical places of different happenings, concerts and x-mas markets. - Square of Slovak National Uprising; full of history, here we usually protest when government misbehaves. - St. Michael's Gate, the last standing city gate now serves as a beautiful orientation point and soon also as a museum. - St. Martin's Cathedral is the "main church" of the city, with rich history covering coronations, plague, Turkish wars and more - Bratislava Castle, iconic building of the capital - We will take bus to Slavin Memorial that observes the city.
