Štrbské Mountain-Lake is the most famous and the most visited lake in the High Tatras. It is also a part of the Tatra National Park - TANAP- the oldest national park in Slovakia. The mountain lake is situated in 1346 meters above sea level.

The biggest cross-country skiing area is in Štrbské Pleso and offers 8 professional groomed tracks with the length of 0, 5 to 5 km.

The City Park is not big and you have to walk by it on your way to/from bus or railway stations and that makes you feel like there is at least some fresh air reservoir...

A set of bells - probably not the biggest attraction but the small park where you find it (with a lot of positive energy and joy - especially in the summer), is worth finding.

The Northern tower of The Cathedral - the best lookout you can imagine! Only 164 stairs to climb (maybe it will help with the motivation, if you learn that little children do it!).

The ascent will be partly quite challenging, but we will be always safe, secured by the Via Ferrata sets and helmets to protect ourselves. We will have to walk by many iron steps above the river and climb several ladders next to waterfalls to reach the top of this brathtaking gorge, called " Kyseľ ".

Hollywood films and stars have left their mark in Slovakia.

Behind Enemy Lines, the first major foreign movie to be shot in Slovakia since the action film The Peacemaker in 1996-97, tells the story of an American pilot shot down by Serb paramilitary during a reconnaissance flight in Bosnia.

Some parts of this feature film were filmed in the area of the Slovak Karst, including the Zádiel valley.

The film was shot in 2000, and curiously, there was so little snow at the time of filming that the snow was artificially made up in all the scenes. It was in the village of Háje that the film studio had its workshops and equipment for making snow, moreover, in the film itself, almost the whole village tried out the role of extras and it is no wonder that the angel statue ended up in this village.

The statue itself is made of polystyrene and it's 7. 5 metres, 10 metres or even a bold 15 metres high.

Wine growing in Tokaj region goes back to the Roman times, when the area belonged to the Roman province of Pannonia. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the vine growing tradition was continued by Slavs. It is believed that the name of the village and mountain Tokaj has a Slavic origin. It is derived from the word "Stokaj, " referring to a confluence of two rivers, in this case the rivers Bodrog and Tisa.

The wine tradition in Košice has deep roots in the Middle Ages. The wine trade brought great profits to the city of Košice until the 14th century.
Louis XIV himself once declared Tokaj to be the "The king of wins and the wine of kings" and issued a decree in 1347 that in Košice it was allowed to sell their domestic, Košice wine.

Slovakia has a smaller part of the Tokaj wine-growing region. It is one of the five areas in the world where it is possible to grow vines to produce naturally sweet wines.
