Explore Kosice your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Kosice tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Kosice for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Explore Jasovská Cave in the Slovak Karst with a licensed guide, then watch for herons and beavers along the Hornád River near Ťahanovce. On a full day, your guide can add birding at the Senianske fishponds when migration is on.

Layover tours: Get picked up at Košice Airport or the main station, stroll Hlavná ulica to St. Elisabeth Cathedral, and see the Singing Fountain and Jakab’s Palace before a quick coffee at Halmi Place. With a longer layover, pop into the East Slovak Museum or climb the cathedral tower for city views.

Hiking tours: Stretch your legs on the Bankov–Alpinka forest loop, or go higher to Kojšovská hoľa for ridge views and a stop at a mountain hut like Lajoška. In summer, an afternoon walk above Ružín reservoir pairs well with a picnic by the water.

Getting around: The historic centre is compact and tram and bus lines work well, but trailheads and caves sit outside town. Ask your local guide about chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation to reach nature spots efficiently.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Kosice inside and out.

S(pi)š Castle - Walk one of Central Europe’s largest castle ruins for big views across the plains, learn how the fortress guarded old trade routes, and add a short stop in Spišská Kapitula for a quiet hilltop church complex if you like more history than hiking.

Levoča - Explore a compact walled town with a handsome square, peek inside St. James Church to see Master Paul’s wooden altar, and browse small galleries and cafés that make a slow afternoon feel earned if you enjoy calm streets and local craft.

Slovak Paradise National Park - Pick a gorge walk with ladders and chains for a bit of adventure or choose a forest loop on gentler paths, then cool off by streams, which suits both active hikers and anyone who prefers steady, scenic walking.

High Tatras - Head to Štrbské Pleso for lakeside paths or ride up from Tatranská Lomnica for alpine views, and mix in easy trails with mountain huts so you still get the high-country mood even if long hikes are not your thing.
