Kia Ora My name is Robbie and I would love to show you around my home. Except for periods overseas travelling, working on camps in America and working on cruise ships, I have lived here since I was two. It is a fantastic little city - named by Lonely Planet as "the Coolest Little Capital in the World" - with a beautiful harbour, easy to walk around and home to a thriving movie industry (of which I have been a part, working on 14 movies to date). Whenever my overseas friends visit I enjoy taking them on a "tiki-tour" around Wellington; around the Bays, up to Mt Victoria for a scenic view or, time permitting, up to the Brooklyn Windmill. If a walking tour in town is preferred, there's Te Papa Museum, the Cable Car up to the Botanical Gardens, the iconic Beehive and shopping on Lambton Quay. I am happy to adapt the itinerary and times as necessary. A small city by world standards - only 400, 000 population - but with a vibrant theatre and nightlife if that's what you're into, Wellington is also the southernmost capital in the world and the gateway to the South Island via the Cook Strait ferry. I have been fortunate to have been involved as an extra in a number of films made in Wellington's thriving movie - including the Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong. I have an NZTA issued Passenger Endorsement for my Driver's Licence, as well as my Private Hire Registration. I have also recently had my First Aid certificate renewed. I have recently worked for a year and a half on cruise ships based in England, during which time I enjoyed going on tours with passengers as often as I could.

A drive around Wellington's beautiful Bays. I will pick you up from your accommodation or your cruise ship and, driving through the Riviera-style Oriental Bay, our first photo stop will be the top of Mt Victoria, with 360-degree views of the City and the Harbour. We will then head off round the Bays to the old Defence base at Shelly Bay (now home to the iconic Chocolate Fish cafe). From there we will continue past Scorching Bay and Seatoun to Breaker Bay for our next photography stop. We will continue on to the Wahine Memorial Park and the Chilean moai at Lyall Bay, before heading back through the Mt Victoria tunnel and you will be dropped off at your accommodation or in town if you prefer.
Robbie took us on a half day tour around Wellington. We visited the botanical gardens, several vistas with amazing views of the city. We stopped at a cafe along the beach, which was very delightful. Robbie was a most enjoyable conversationalist and provided us with deep insights into local culture and history.
Robbie is very personable and a delight to spend the day with. He picked us up and returned us right at the ship…very convenient! He was very accommodating to make a couple of extra stops for us (...thanks Robbie). Robbie is a genuinely nice person and I highly recommend him as a guide. Thank you Robbie for a wonderful tour.
Robbie was a lot of fun to be around. He was definitely knowledgeable and informative. We saw a lot in a short time from beach to hills and still had relaxing and very nice meal.

My car is a modern (2007), clean, air-conditioned Mazda People Mover which seats 4 comfortably. I can hire a bigger car (at extra cost) with a mimimum of one month's notice. There will be some walking over uneven, stony ground in places. If more than 4 people are interested, I can hire a larger people-mover as necessary.
