Become part of the scene, experience a touch of the movie atmosphere and enjoy discovering the most famous sceneries of this fantasy. Through this tour you will enjoy the details of the movie set and feel as if you have become a hobbit, have fun taking photos with beautiful nature and hobbit houses. Hobbiton was fantastic!! We had a bit of rain, but large umbrellas were provided. If on a cruise, definitely factor in the time to get to/from the port (1 hour from Tauranga with normal traffic) since the tours are scheduled at specific times and take 2.5 hours from start to finish. Our hearts were racing a little at the end trying to get back in time (we made it!). Tour guide Steven was very friendly and knowledgeable. His van fit our group of four adults comfortably.

Your Tauranga tour itinerary
I will pick you up at your accommodation or from the port of Tauranga by 10:30am Then you will move to the Hobbiton Village which will take about an hour. When you arrive at the movie set, you will have a simple lunch at the cafe. At about 12:30pm, you will start of the movie set tour for 2. 5 hours with the group. After movie set tour finished at 3:00pm, you will be back to Tauranga around 4:30pm. * IMPORTANT NOTICE * FOR Shore Excursion guests - Depends on your return time to cruise ship, and the availability time of the Hobbiton movie set, tour can be accepted or canceled. Optional - your tour can be customised.
