Hi there, I'm a young at heart, 3 score plus a little bit more female and have lived all my life in the Bay of Plenty. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. We have so much to offer within this area, from a working gold-mine, bush walks, spectacular natural scenery, geothermal activity through to being in the heart of the kiwifruit and avocado growing-region with a few wineries dotted in between. Personally I've completed a business studies degree majoring in tourism and I'm mad about all genre of music. I've travelled abroad to visit friends and family several times and have particularly enjoyed those out-of-the-way experiences that only the locals know about. I drive a limo spec BMW 7 series which is particularly spacious or for a further touch of class come riding in my 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow which is subject to availability! I'm passionate about the area I live in and welcome the opportunity to show it off. I've completed a business studies degree majoring in tourism. I hold a Passenger Service Operator's Licence together with a passenger endorsement (P) on my driver's licence. I also have a First Aid certificate

Visit the town of Waihi and wander the streets with a local guide
Overview of your Tauranga tour
Feel like a bit of gentle exercise then visit the town of Waihi with its mining history dating back to 1878. Wander up the main street, see the remains of the old workings at a couple of locations both in and out of town, take a mine tour of the current mining operation and enjoy discovering everything in between at our own Gold Discovery Centre. Add that to a leisurely walk through the beautiful Karangahake gorge and be spoilt for choice for fabulous local hospitality lunch options from cafes to a winery. Depending on your tour times/day, you may also be able to take a ride on the steam train, or visit the Museum. All experiences are optional.
Your Tauranga tour itinerary
- Pick up from cruiseship and take a leisurely drive of about an hour through kiwifruit/avocado country to the mining township of Waihi. - Hop onto the gold mine tour which lasts approx 80 minutes and follow this with the Gold Discovery Centre, allowing a futher 45 minutes. - Other options for the day can include a visit through the Waihi museum, the steam train ride can be either one way where I will drive out, pick you up and carry on into the beautiful Karangahake gorge for a short walk, or alternatively you can have a coffee at the cafe and take the return trip back into town. - All experiences are optional but if you are keen I do need to book the mine tour a few days in advance. Let me know exactly what you'd like to experience and I will create the day to best suit you.
