Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes Full Day Tour

What an amazing day we spent with Said visiting Volubilis , Meknes and Moulay Idriss. Said has such a warm and engaging personality and truly makes this tour outside the city an extra special experience. We were able to gain much knowledge and insight to the Moroccan culture and day to day life during our tour and we bid farewell knowing that we were fortunate to have the spent the day together. The highlight was our visit to Moulay Idriss, a beautiful local town in the mountains where we had lunch with members of his family. This was an outstanding tour in all respects. Said was a really excellent guide as was the local guide at Volubilis who brought the ruins of this incredible Roman city to life. Lunch at a family home in Moulay Idriss was a very special and humbling experience and our brief stop in Meknes (currently being heavily refurbished) left us wanting more. The highlight however was listening to Said share his insight and detailed knowledge of the history and culture of this incredible country. Highly recommended!

If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I would do it! Voulibilis is a must see. Meknes surprised me with its rich history. Moulay Idriss is like no other city I've visited -- but be prepared to walk uphlll! But the highlight of the tour was our guide, Said, and our driver. He arranged for us to eat with a local family in Moulay Idriss. It was the highlight of our first 5 days in Morocco eating and learning about their culture. What a treat!

What an excellent tour! Said provided great information on every aspect of the visit; both detailed facts as well as some personal observation and opinions. He answered all our questions thoroughly. He accommodated all our needs throughout the tour. He made us feel like he was a family member who was getting personal look at Morocco's history and culture.

We had a wonderful day with Said and his driver at various sites near Fes. Certainly, for us, the highlight was the Roman city of Volubilis, once the capital of Roman North Africa. it is in a beautiful location with impressive ruins and mosaics. We also visited the cities of Moulay Idris, high on a hill, with a bustling market, and Meknez, also with interesting things to see. Said is knowledgeable, well organized, and a pleasure to travel with.

Said provided us with another outstanding day visiting Volubilis, Moulay Idriss & Meknes. The drive was very comfortable and Said gave us a great background & history of the area. The Roman Ruins in Volubilis are quite impressive as are the sights in Meknes. Both are worth the journey from a Fez. However, my favorite part of the day was walking through the very authentic village of Moulay Idriss. We wandering up thru the scenic and colorful streets and really felt like we saw 'local' Morocco. Excellent!
