Day Excursion to Meknes, Volublis & Molay Idriss village

The history of Morocco still hidden till you visit the Romans city which called Volubilis. This city with its old buildings, Romans mosaic and squares for 300 years had strategic importance and a source of vast wealth for the empire. Another key historical site is spiritual town which called Moulay Idriss, which is the most sacred town and the final resting place of the descendant of the Prophet Mohamed who escaped from the east in order to pervade Islam between the Berbers. Last but not least, discover Meknes the Versailles of Morocco. Founded by the Almoravid, became an imperial city under the rule of Sultan Moulay Ismail, the city has three distinct areas the old Medina with its central square el hedim , the imperial city which contains the most impressive monuments and the new town founded in the protectorate period. Departure from the hotel will be at 9h AM with private guide and driver, the first stop will be 20 min later in the dam to have some juices then we continue to the city of Meknes one of the imperial cities in Morocco. Visit of the imperial city founded by Moulay Ismail in the late seventeen century. the first stop will be in The gate of Mansour (the Victorious) and Lahdim square It lies in between the Medina and the Kasbah. You can find Pony carriage , blaring music carts during the day. As the sun sets the square gets transformed into something out of the Arabian Nights. It gets converged by snake charmers, story tellers, singers & dancers . then we will driver through the ramparts of the city to visit the mausoleum of Molay Ismail. then lunch before driving to spiritual village Moulay Idriss Zerhoum for the panoramic view. Visit of VOLUBILIS which was the capital of Mauritania in King Juba II . You can see the House of Orpheus, the Baths of Gallienus, the Temple of Venus and the famous Arch of Caracalla.
