My name is Abdelghani , and I am an official tour guide in Morocco. I obtained my BA in English language studies, and also a professional certificate in Tourism and Patrimony. I am an alumnus of the prestegious American exchange program Fulbright through which I served as a Foriegn Language Teaching Assistant and a cultural ambassador of Morocco at the University of New Haven in the state of Connecticut, USA. Overview of your Fes tour
Embark on a pure historical and cultural journey in one of the oldest and most impressive Islamic urban areas in the world, Fez. Stepping inside the labyrinth of Fez old medina can’t go without alerting and waking up all the senses. This guided tour is going to introduce you to the two historical parts of the famous old medina of fez; Fez El-Jadid (the new), and Fez El Bali (the ancient/old).
Your Fes tour itinerary
Our first stop is Fez El jadid, where you learn about the Royal palace and the Jewish quarter. Fez is the hometown and capital of the impressive worldwide famous Zelij or Moroccan mosaic. Your guide will be pleased to give you the chance to learn about this Moroccan artisanal trade at one of the workshops located at the edge of the Medina. Starting from one of the famous gate the old town, you will start your Fez Medina experience. Main stops in the medina: - The Medrasa (Quranic School) - Lunch Stop (Optional) at one of the highly recommended historical Riads that serve the best of Moroccan cuisine. - Al Qarawiyyin mosque/university (from outside) Fez is also known for textile and good quality leather. Don’t miss the chance to join your guide to one of the colorful workshops where the looms have been active for centuries. For the sake of either taking picture or shopping, your Fez experience is incomplete without stopping at the largest tannery in town with a mint leafs on your nose.
