Unconventional Valle de Guadalupe day tour

As an experienced international traveler for more than 50 years, I can say without reservation that Lizette is the best guide I can recall ever having. She is knowledgeable, friendly, accomodating, generous, punctual and any other superlative you can think to add. Her English is perfect, and she has had a wide range of career experiences that add to her ability to relate to her clients. She guided our group of six adults, including four seniors, on a two day wine tour of the Valle de Guadalupe, acting both as guide and driver, including an afternoon in the town of Ensenada. She is very well informed about the wine industry in Mexico and has good relations with many of the winery owners. Her recommended wineries to visit were all great choices as were her dining recommendations. Lizette was readily available for consultation prior to our trip and made all advance reservations that we requested. She even arranged for her partner Xavier to act as our driver in the evening when we went out for dinners at remote wineries. Although we were unable to take advantage of some of the more physical options she offers, biking, hiking, etc., I am sure those would be wonderful experiences, too. When it was time for us to depart, we felt as if we were separating from a new friend whom we hoped to meet again. All six of us loved Lizette!

This excursion was absolutely perfect for my husband and me. It was private and personalized, and Lizette’s communication was excellent. She picked us up right on time outside the port, along with her daughter. We headed up the mountain to a small boutique winery that wasn’t quite ready for us, but Lizette quickly pivoted and arranged for us to visit the second winery instead. It was stunning—and we had the place to ourselves, which made it even more special. From there, we walked to the third and fourth wineries, enjoying great conversations along the way. After the last stop, we went to a restaurant called Robleza… WOW! The food, service, and location were all spectacular. We truly loved every part of the experience. I highly recommend Lizette and her daughter for any of their excursions!

Incredible Wine Tastings Near Ensenada. Our guide, Lizette, was a wonder to work with in determining the wineries to visit and to guide us on our adventure just east of Ensenada in Valle de Guadalupe to visit three boitique wineries : Vinacola Returno, Vinos Cruz, and Cava Maciel. Our discovery from the trips was the ability of this region to grow the Nebbiolo grapes and transform them into incredible aged wines. And at Cava Maciel, they even had an aged Cabernet Sauvignon that that was equally incredible. To finish our visit to Ensenada we went to La Morocha, local restaurant for an authentic Mexican lunch. Then it was back to our cruise ship after a wonderful all day adventure in Ensenada. I highly recommend Lizette to help plan your next adventure in Ensenada as she has many different places and adventures to share with you.

Lizette gave our multi-generational family an outstanding custom tour of Ensenada. She entertained us all: from our 2-year old to her 80-year old grandpa! She provided historic and scientific context to our tour and took us to beautiful places we would not have found on our own. Some of our party had a lot of fun on a scenic hike. We especially enjoyed the amazing restaurant where we had the best empanadas we've ever tasted. Lizette is an exceptional guide and we will ask for her again.
