Half day Kyoto Tour with Kyoto-born native guide

We had a wonderful half day with Ayumi! She was incredibly responsive ahead of our tour and met us conveniently at our hotel. She efficiently took us by subway to Nanzenji temple, the Eikando maple temple, the beautiful Philosopher's path and the Silver temple. She gave us fantastic background information on Kyoto temples and lots of interesting details about the Shinto religion. She really made the sites come alive with her knowledge! Ayumi was very kind and speaks excellent English! I highly recommend her!!!

Touring Kyoto with Ayumi was easily the highlight of our trip! We got to see Kyoto from a local perspective while learning about its history and culture. Ayumi is an enthusiastic, charismatic and knowledgable guide - passionate about Kyoto, its people, and its history. She was also extremely helpful in dealing with the challenges of traveling with an elderly parent, and was conscientious in finding locations my mother could navigate. Truly - I can't recommend this tour enough!

Ayumi is FANTASTIC!! If you are interested in the cultural "hidden gems" off the beaten track, she is your guide! She is an artist and likes to showcase local artisans and small galleries. She also has a good working knowledge of architecture and Japanese history. A real gem of a find!!

Ayumi was our guide for a morning tour of a few of Kyoto’s temples. She was organized, and arrived on time and was good at providing historical perspective.

Ayumi-san was a fantastic guide and our family really enjoyed our experience with her. She was very responsive and helpful when planning our trip and was very flexible and accommodating when we needed to make changes. We visited all the temples and shrines on our list and a few shopping areas. She was really good at keeping us moving and finding good spots for meals and breaks. When my wife was a bit sick one day she brought some very help otc medicine. We would gladly hire her again.

We are very thankful to wonderful Ayumi for high level, very professional, extremely interesting and knowledgeable excursion! Her love for her country, attention to details and amazing deep stories about history and life in Kyoto made us big fans of the city and brought many enjoyable moments. Bravo, dear Ayumi!
