Western Highlights in Kyoto for first time visitors - Full Day Tour

What a wonderful tour we had with our guide Koichi W. We would highly recommend him for your tour of Kyoto, Japan! He gave us such a knowledge experience of this beautiful city! Taught us how to travel and use the exceptional, large train system and which neighborhoods to walk through for a unique and speclized tour experience! He also provided travel instruction for us to continue exploring the city on our own the next day! Great memorable tour experience thanks to our guide Koichi W!

This tour was fantastic. But the best part was our guide, Koichi-san. He is a fountain of knowledge and loves sharing the history and sites of Kyoto. We spent two full days with him and loved every minute. We took public transportation, a number of trains and buses, which gave us the opportunity to be up-close and personal with the people of Kyoto. Every temple, shrine, and garden were not only visited but totally explained in the context of history and culture. What a pleasure. PS. wear good walking shoes!

What a wonderful tour! There were just 3 of us, including Koichi, our guide. He is probably the best guide we’ve ever had. I’ve never seen so many visuals that he used to explain the history of the sites we saw. Pictures and maps, wow! He was so well prepared and so knowledgeable about Kyoto and Japan. It was a long day with lots of walking but well worth it!

Koichi-san was an exceptional guide. He share Kyoto with our group of five in a busy, and energetic full day walking/public transport tour that maximized our limited Kyoto experience. Knowledgeable, flexible, humorous, and very organized. Great day, and highly recommended.

WASA Koichi san is a gentleman *and* a scholar. He toured my father and I around Kyoto in a way that gave us the most wonderful experience. Always interested in history, Koichi described sharing the rich history and beauty of Kyoto and Nara as his "calling." That truly shows. Throughout the tour, Koichi shared with extremely helpful infographics he created himself to give us context and knowledge that made all the difference. This lovely man is more than a tour guide -- he is our new friend and that is a blessing.
