One Day Kyoto customized tour

Great way to see Kyoto! Having Hide as our guide, was incredibly helpful in understanding the history and culture of the shrines & temples. Without Hide, we could not have understood or appreciated these places. Perfect balance of sight seeing and walking. Hide customized our tour so we got to see exactly what we wanted, at a pace that was comfortable for us. We mentioned shaved ice dessert and he took us to his favorite shaved ice place. Delicious!

Hide was terrific, set up a custom tour for my family , we chose adding a driver to get more done in the day and save some steps, which is a great option. Hide speaks great english, and his explanations of all the sites are so meaningful! A top level guide, don't look any further.

We had an excellent day in Kyoto with Hide. Our family (two teenagers, wife, and me) spent the day seeing the sites of Eastern Kyoto. Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. He was prompt and very attentive. We had plenty of time to talk about the sites, history of Japan, and Japanese society. My teens enjoyed talking to Hide about music, sports, and culture. He had a good sense of humor. I enjoyed his perspective on the history. My wife enjoyed the pace and being able to relax at several of the temples and gardens just to enjoy the peacefulness. We felt like the schedule was up to us - if we wanted to stop or grab a snack, it was up to us. Basically, we felt like we spent the day in Kyoto seeing the sites with a good friend!

We absolutely had the best day with Hide for our day tour in Kyoto. He was very responsive during booking the tour, answering our questions and helping plan the day. We were staying in Osaka and if you can swing it, I would recommend getting a private driver (he also arranged for us with a toddler seat). It was nice being driven to each area. From the moment we met, we felt very comfortable with him and he was very knowledgeable. We thought we could only do 4 sites but we ended up doing 5 by adding in the market for lunch (which was fantastic, delicious and a personal highlight for me!) I would highly recommend booking this tour with him.

Our two days in Kyoto with Tess and Hide were wonderful! We had so much fun exploring first with Tess and then with Hide and got great perspective of this amazing city from each of them. It was a great benefit to communicate in advance with Tess who outlined our itinerary for both days. She gave us realistic expectations of how much we could see in our time frame given that we were traveling from Tokyo on the Shinkansen. They helped with luggage logistics and our hotel check-in and gave us additional ideas for meals and things to do on our own before and after the tours. They also helped us with timing our visits to popular tourist sites to avoid crowds and use our time wisely. We recommend Tess and Hide without reservation!!
