Hello everyone, I’m Khas. Thank you for deciding to come to Kyoto! I’m a passionate local guide, and my tours are built around the hidden beauty of Kyoto, where the charm is found in small details, rather than in a plain sight, and my job is to help you see them clearly and experience Kyoto to its fullest. Although I am new on the platform, I have years of guiding experience, which turned into a passion of meeting and connecting with lots of awesome people around the World. It is always a pleasure to help others “peek into” the local culture and experience it from an insider’s perspective. With my IR background and interests in historical, religious and cultural studies, I focus on explaining the patterns behind what you see, how history, beliefs, and daily life connect. I specialize in Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, taking guests through must-see sights and the quieter streets most guests overlook. But it doesn’t stop there - throughout many years in Japan, I have developed a big interest in all sorts of Japanese foods and help people experience the beauty in Japanese cuisine, finding the best spots for foods such as Okonomiyaki, Gyoza, Katsudon, Seafood and so many others. Every tour is flexible, I adjust the pace to the group, and go deeper or lighter depending on your curiosity and energy. No scripts and no rushing to help you make the most out of your time here in Japan. If you’re curious, and want a tour that feels more like discovering with a local friend who understands Japan rather than being talked at, I’d be happy to show you around.

Khas was an amazing tour guide! He showed us some of the most beautiful spots in Kyoto, and a few of the local markets. He did an excellent job explaining the culture and the significance of the places we visited. He was so much fun, but also very respectful. I highly recommend Khas as a tour guide!
Really good hearted young man eager to share the city and learn about us and our family. Well thought out plan and schedule. Also gave us great recommendations for future cities.
Khas was brilliant and highly recommended. He organised a tour around our wishes and was flexible for a few changes in last few days. We managed to fit a lot in. He was knowledgeable around traditions and history of Tokyo and showed us a couple of places that were not very touristy, which we really enjoyed. We had a fantastic day and especially loved our lunch venue. Thank you
Khas was great! Not only was he knowledgeable but also kind, funny and thoughtful. He made sure we all were staying hydrated and stayed at our pace. Not once did we feel rushed. He took pictures for us, answered questions and even offered to be available via text/phone if we needed help on our remaining days in Kyoto. We made it to a lot of temples/shrines and learned so much, highly recommend booking with him. It was the best first day we could of had.
If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Kyoto, look no further for a guide and just hire Khas. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge, was very accommodating to what we wanted to see, speaks perfect English and is just fun to hang out with for the day. He is from Mongolia originally and as a boy helped his uncle with tours. It was fascinating to learn all of the history and culture in Japan, but then also learn about Mongolia. He is a gem...don't hesitate to hire him.
