Private Full-Day Tours in the Heartland of the Etruscans

This was an AMAZING tour!!! Mr. Hupperts' enthusiasm and knowledge certainly brightened our rainy day! Our first stop was a field to see a mound as a preview of the Etruscan Tombs we would later enter, which was quite helpful once we got to the actual tombs. Mr. Hupperts was engaging and he did not overwhelm us with information, but at the same time we felt he was very thorough. He was very willing to answer questions and to tailor the tour to better suit our needs, which was fantastic! We honestly wish that we could have another day or two in the same areas and with him as our guide. As a bonus, he took us to a section of original Roman road which we truly appreciated! We HIGHLY recommend Mr. Hupperts and this tour!

My party of four had the pleasure of touring the Viterbo, Tuscania, and Tarquinia with Rudolph for a full day, and it was a wonderful experience! The area often seems to fly under the tourist radar, which is unfortunate - what a beautiful area rich with history! Rudolph was nothing short of outstanding, striking a perfect balance between historical information, local insights, and a keen sense of humor. If you have the opportunity, my entire party recommends spending time in this region, and in particular, allowing Rudolph to guide you. A tremendous experience with a tremendous man!

Rudolph was wonderful, took us to less touristy/busy destinations. Great knowledge of the area and surrounding towns! Lunch was special as we were on a small volcanic lake with wonderful views. We are Americans and he could communicate with us perfectly. Thank you Rudolph!

Our group had a fantastic time and felt that we had an experience we wouldn't have been able to create on our own. We enjoyed the beautiful countryside in bloom, saw Etruscan artifacts, historic cities, had a lunch at a enoteca overlooking a beautiful lake plus more. Our guide was fantastic and we are so glad he was available during our visit to Rome.

When you travel with a guide that is not only knowledgeable about his area but is also enthusiastic about sharing it, the tour is outstanding.Such was the time we spent traveling with Rudolph.He explained thoroughly the history of the Etruscans during the ride and helped us to understand their lifestyle and beliefs through the burial rituals and the artifacts shown at the museum.Stories at the 2 churches brought them to life.He handled our friend's mobility issues very well and was kind and understanding.

An unexpectedly unique tour. We didn't just see the featured sites, we lived them. Rudolph's knowledge of the featured sites was extraordinary, bringing to life the Etruscan civilization and the Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola. To the general population of tourists, the Etruscans probably don't appear at the top of civilizations to learn about. The Romans and the empire they built centered in Rome probably is. The tour concluded with a beautiful 4 course meal served in Rudolph's home. Wow.
