The green heartland of the Etruscans close to Civitavecchia

If you want to get a sense of everyday Italian life with some historical and beautiful sights included, this is the tour for you. Susanna knows this area very well and can take you to out of the way spots that provide a real feel for the area. She has an engaging personality that made us feel as though we were touring with a knowledgeable friend who wanted to show us around her neighborhood. The tour was one of the best experiences of our trip.

Susanna was an amazing guide! We booked the tour to see the Etruscan sites of Tarquinia and Cerveteri and we saw that and so much more! I knew the pre-roman Etruscans were a sophisticated society, but I did not know the extent of their civilization until this tour. Also, thank you to Susanna for the side trip to the Rock Amphitheater of Sutri! What a treat!

We had a great tour with Susanna. She is knowledgeable and experienced as a guide, and delightful as a person. She helped us appreciate a region of Italy often overlooked. It was the perfect tour for a stop of our cruise ship in Civitavecchia, especially if you are already familiar with Rome. It was the kind of experience that makes want to come back with more time. I recommend her without any hesitation.

This tour exceeded our expectations! As the major Etruscan museums were closed on Monday, Susanna still took us to several major Etruscan tomb sites and serendipitously we discovered the site of the recent Baylor University archaeological dig which uncovered an 2600 year-old undisturbed tomb. Very exciting for us as Baylor graduates! The park security guard guided us and told all about the excitement of the find and showed us pictures while Susanna translated. We also met the most wonderful people and had a lovely Italian lunch to top off the day. Susanna was the most interesting guide and we would not hesitate to use her again in this region.

A beautiful day with Susannah, who felt like a long time friend! We loved learning Etruscan history as we visited the tombs and museum in Tarquinia, the incredible view in Tuscania, and the ancient church in Viterbo were highlights. Great conversation over lunch with a lovely bottle of wine was the perfect finish! Thank you, Susannah!

We had an absolutely wonderful day with Susanna. The sites we visited on our excursion were fascinating and interesting. She generously shared her knowledge of the area's history, her enthusiasm and her passion for this part of Italy. We had lunch in a quaint little restaurant with good food & wine. She enthusiastically participated in our geocaching adventures along the way. We had an awesome time with Susanna and can't thank her enough for taking such good care of us.
