I am by profession an opera singer, but I am also an experienced tour guide. I live in Italy with my Dutch husband since 25 years and we have founded a music association which organizes concerts, operas and other cultural events. I love the area where we live. It's just north of Rome and very near to Tuscany and Umbria. It is very green and full of history. Overview of your Viterbo tour
Since year 990 people have been walking on the famous pilgrimage road Via Francigena! We will start this private day-tour at Bolsena, a charming town on the shore of the Lago di Bolsena, Europe's largest Vulcan lake. This town, lying on the famous Cassia road and the pilgrimage road Via Francigena, leading to Rome was home to St. Cristina and the miracle of Corpus Domini. The medieval borgo of Bolsena is one of my favorite places! After this unique experience, we will proceed through the beautiful winery landscape (with the possibility to visit a winery on the road) to Montefiascone and have lunch in one of the typical Italian restaurants. Next stop is the papal city of Viterbo with its well preserved part of the city called San Pellegrino from Middle ages. And , of course, Santa Rosa!

Starting point: Orte train station or Viterbo city Drive to Bolsena, visit the old town on the hilltop and the sanctuary of Santa Cristina and catacombs. Drive to Montefiascone , visit to the very old church of San Flaviano. Walk on the ancient Roman road. The old part of Viterbo with Papal Palace and cathedral. This is a private tour meant to accommodate your needs and schedule. Through email, we can work on an itinerary and the pick-up point that's right for you.
