Trieste Half Day Walking Tour

Trieste is special and unique. Located at the north end of the Adriatic sea and surrounded by the Karst tableland it has always been at the center of important trading routes and consequently a meeting point of different cultures, languages, religions. It was ruled by the Austrian for over 500 years but still retains its Mediterranean flair. We will explore this beautiful city from its Roman origins on the top of the hill, passing through the medieval part to reach the "città nuova" or "borgo Teresiano" the new town whose construction started in the 18th century, when Trieste became an important seaport and emporium for the Austrian empire. Among elegant buildings, places of worship of different religious communities and stylish bars and cafes we will reach Piazza Unità d'Italia, the biggest European square facing the sea and certainly one of the most beautiful in Italy.
