Trieste and Castello di Miramare With Private Transportation

The Miramare castle is a majestic 19th-century mansion, built for Maximilian of Habsburg, brother of the emperor Francis Joseph, on the tip of a promontory overlooking the sea. It is surrounded by a huge park full of exotic and rare tree species. Maximilian lived here with his wife Charlotte, daughter of the King of Belgium only about 4 years before setting off to Mexico to be crowned as Emperor. A visit inside gives you an idea of the opulence that European 19th-century royals enjoyed as the residence retains all its original interior furnishing. After the visit of the castle we are going to explore Trieste from the top of the hill of San Giusto to the seashore. During this driving and walking tour you will have the opportunity to learn a lot about the complex and peculiar history of this city while enjoying beautiful sceneries and a vibrant atmosphere.
