Hi, my name is Paola. I was born in Trieste, where I grew up, and after high school I have lived in many different countries. I have qualified as an official tour leader and official tour guide and now I have almost 13 years experience as a tour guide. I love my hometown and I am happy to share my knowledge and to transmit my enthusiasm for my amazing hometown and its breathtaking surroundings. My interest in history and history of art go back to the time of my classical education and university. I then deepened this knowledge with additional studies and developed also further interests in botanic and also in the history of cinema, religions and gastronomy. But I can also provide you with some. . . 'vintage gossip'! I am happy when I can share my enthusiasm for the place I live and its amazing surroundings. I have written and conducted broadcasts of cultural and musical content for the radio. What I love about my profession: I love when people fall in love with this town and its region…that they are here for the first or for the tenth time… I love discovering people's interests and adapt my tour to them… I am particularly proud to be able to always offer personally tailored tours, always very attentive to my guests' feedback, keeping a constant contact with them and being very flexible in order to meet their expectations. Venice Tourism Department, officially licenced as a tour leader Friuli Venezia Giulia Tourism Administration, officially licenced as a guide for the whole region Friuli Venezia Giulia (licence no.136) I am not a driver. If a vehicle is necessary (which is often the case) , I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The tour includes the visit of the impressive Jewish Cemetery (where some of the most relevant personalities of Trieste are buried), of the monumental synagogue (one of the largest ones in Europe), one of the most beautiful and impressive in the whole world and/or the Jewish Cemetery (please not that both sites are not to be visited on Jewish Holidays; the synagogue can not be visited on Friday either - please also note that the Cemetery is not suitable for Kohanim). We can continue with the visit of the Jewish Museum and a walk through the sites in town which are most significant to Jewish History (places where literates used to live or related to their lives), including the 2 former ghetto areas. Even a visit to the (otherwise also extremely interesting) Revoltella Art Museum, featuring several works by Jewish painters, is recommended. A stop at the Café San Marco (which is very tightly related to Jewish history and to many - mostly jewish - writers and poets who lived in Trieste) is a pleasant option
During this tour we will see: - visit of the Jewish Cemetery - visit of the Synagogue - lunch break or coffee break at a wonderful Coffee house - Jewish Museum- former Concentration Camp 'Risiera di San Sabba'' - Revoltella Art Museum (only the Jewish artists) And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote. Please note: cemetery closed on Saturdays, synagogue closed on Fridays and Saturdays, Revoltella museum closed on Tuesday. Synagogue and cemetery are closed during the Jewish holidays AND the italian national holidays. The Museum is closed every Sunday.
