Greetings from Roatan, my name is Janna, I was born and raised on the beautiful Island of Roatan and continue to call this small piece of paradise home. I love to travel and enjoy meeting people from all around the globe. I enjoy spending a lot of time on the water, whether on a boat above the surface or in the water snorkeling. My passion is cooking and I love to host guest at my dinner table. I left Roatan to pursue my higher education in Costa Rica and returned home and practiced for 5 years but really did not like being stuck inside the office all day. My love for cooking, entertaining guest, conversation and showing people around the Island got me into the tour industry. I now have the perfect job that allows me to do what I love, meeting new people from around the globe and showing them the beautiful island I call home, our way of life and the awesome people that live here. Explore this hidden gem away from all the crowds on the western end of the Island and snorkel one my favorite snorkel spots. The Harbour of Port Royal is located on the Eaat End, where I call home. The location is about a 45 minute drive followed by a scenic boat ride through the east end communities where you will see how the locals live and commute in small boats from one community to the other. Once you arrive to Port Royal your snorkeling adventure begins by a shallow inshore snorkel where you will see lots of tropical fishes, coral formations and sea fans. You will also enjoy a swim break and shallow reef snorkel at a sand bar before moving on to an open water reef snorkel followed by a shallow wreck snorkel where you will see juvenile such as grunts, schoolmasters snappers, sergeant majors. A cooler with cold water, can juices and sodas is included along with some light snacks.
Our group absolutely LOVED our tour with Janna! She was so friendly and full of knowledge about the island. We were so happy to feel like we were the only ones on the water where she took us snorkeling. We saw beautiful marine life and enjoyed snacks on a deserted beach- perfect backdrop for our teenage girls’ Instagram photos! 😉 Thank you Janna for such a special day that we will never forget!
Janna was unbelievable! She takes care of you from the moment you leave the ship to being dropped off at the cruise terminal. The vehicle is new, clean, and maintained, her boat is also new, clean, and maintained. If you want to snorkel away from the masses, then Janna has you covered! Our snorkeling trip took place over the Christmas/New Year 2023/4. The only person we have seen during our snorkeling trip was a local lobster hunter. Coral reefs were beautiful, shallow, and full of fish! 5 stars!
Janna took my family on a snorkeling tour away from the crowds. She picked us up from the cruise dock, and her van was large enough for my entire family. Yes, it's actually air conditioned and comfortable. We had a tour of the island while traveling to the far side of Roatan. Once on the boat, we traveled to 2 different snorkeling spots, a reef, and a reef shelf. She really knew the area and was cognizant of the weather too. We lunched on a private Island with the most delicious homemade food. Fabulous!!!
Janna was great! The weather was windy making the original tour difficult so Janna modified the tour so that we could still enjoy the day snorkeling. She was so helpful, and we had a great time with her. Her communication was outstanding as she gave detailed directions to find the pick up point and gave us regular updates. She is friendly and gave a great tour of the island too.
Janna and her husband were fantastic....went to great efforts to take us to Port Royal on a rough sea day. My wife and I were engaged there 45 years ago and they knew it was important for us to get to go back there. They did... and made it so enjoyable and both of them being native to Roatan they were very informative. Don't think twice... enjoy a day with them.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. Janna is very knowlegeable about the main island and the others we saw. The snorkeling was great and a plenty for locations we visited. Finally the picnic lunch was amazing, she really took the time for preparation. All in all we will being using this guide again, especially with the great personality. Thank you.
