Get to know Roatan with this personalized shore excursion and sightseeing city tour! During this half-day experience, we will stop at several of the landmarks you can't miss if you are in town so you can take wonderful photos & admire the local craft. I will also take you to visit the super cute monkeys and sloths at the park where you will have the chance to respectfully interact with them. Before finishing a day full of fun, we will make a stop at the great Chocolate & Rum factory to enjoy a wonderful tasting experience.
What a delight! Mishelle & her husband took us on a tour around the island (much as her tour description relates) offering info on history, local culture, language, relation to the mainland, etc. Transportation was roomy & comfortable. One of our party had mobility limits & she was totally knackered at the end. Mishelle & her husband tracked down a gentleman & wheelchair who took her all the way to the ship. Thank you Mishelle for a lovely day & look at the island.
More stars if I could, from the moment we met Mishelle she was easy going, informative, flexible and charming. We had some possible changes to our attendance the day before the tour and Mishelle worked diligently to accommodate us, even though it did not happen. Recommend Mishelle at the highest level.
Mishelle readily agreed to modify the itinerary so we could see what interested us most during our port stop while on a cruise. Holding the animals at the monkey and sloth sanctuary was great fun, and my wife even enjoyed the swarm of iguanas milling about our feet at the iguana farm! She kept the pace relaxed in view of my wife's mobility issues. We very much enjoyed our time with Mishelle and the tasty local lunch we shared together. Over the years we've taken several exceptional tours with Tours by Locals and this day was no exception.
Feb2024. Mishelle was an amazing guide. She was there to meet us promptly and escorted us to her modern, well kept and air conditioned vehicle. She had a lovely personality and on our tour of the island she had lots of local information to share. We visited the sloths and monkeys without having to stand in line. After offering us a couple of options for snorkeling we decided on the Little French Key which was an amazing experience. If we are ever back in Roatan we will book with Mishelle again for sure.

Mischelle was a great tour guide. She was very flexible since we were touring on Sunday and many things were closed. She went out of her way to help us get another tour arranged for two days later. It was a lovely day touring the island.
