As a Licensed Tour Guide I am traveling a lot around Greece but you will find me mostly in Volos city where I live and in the Meteora site, the highlight of this region. I am working as a Licensed Tour Guide since 2015 after my training by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. My previous studies in the science of Archaeology challenged me to understand deeper the ancient and modern Greek lifestyle. After my studies I worked with children through special educational projects of Greek Museums. While working there I touched their mindset and needs. This was a life-changing experience to me because I realized that I LOVE to explain our History, Archaeological sites, Nature and Greek Lifestyle to anyone who is interested. My tours are designed to teach you about the people, culture, history, and city lifestyle. My goal is to provide a fun-filled yet informative experience that helps you understand what makes these places and Greece in general, such famous, alive and must visit place. This tour is designed for the visitor who wants to visit Meteora away from the crowds in a private guided tour. Your group will not join others! It's a private tour guided by me and we will be constantly. * As a licensed Tour guide, I will be with you inside and outside the monasteries * We will pass through the rocky cliffs and watch the Christian monasteries on top. Feel the breeze and hear the bells of the communities. The monasteries are still active and six in total. We will choose them based on their opening days and hours. I will tell you about the history of the site, the geological phenomenon, Christian Orthodox Religion and the meanings-symbols behind the decoration and wall paintings of the central church. We will see the nuns and monks doing their everyday chores and welcoming the visitors.
Eleftheria was great. Pointed out a lot of things we would have never noticed. Wasn’t hesitant to get us through large groups and through crowds - not easy since it was crowded. Very fluent and easy to understand. For anyone considering Tours by Locals, it is absolutely worth it - much preferable to trying to visit on your own or with a large group. Our guide was able to personalize our tour somewhat so we got to stop at an additional monastery. Thank you!

During the tour we will visit: - Meteora Area (UNESCO Site): Enter 2 monasteries and see the rest monasteries from the outside. I will guide you in two monasteries depending on your preferences, fitness, weather and traffic. We will visit the central churches of the communities, see the old dining rooms of the monks and nuns, and capture your moments. - Hidden monasteries - Natural panoramic view points for meditation and photos. Please note: 1. You need a licensed guide to be guided inside the monasteries. 2. Each monastery follows its own time schedule. 3. You must follow the dress code: women have to keep covered their shoulders and wear skirts above their pants or wear a long dress/skirt. I always recommend to carry your own skirt or cover-up. As for men, they have to wear long pants. The entrance is forbidden to those who don't follow the dress code.
